In case you’re wondering what Dev Gathering is about, Dev Gathering is the gathering for Developers to discuss anything about Games Development. It could be held weekly or biweekly, as announcements will be made through bulletin post and email.

The weekly gamers gathering was held as usual on 26^th August, Tuesday. Most of the members went to FITCR2002 to relax themselves after the stressful mid-term exams (this is what GDC is meant to be right? hehe)

The members found that the games are getting more interesting as they already know the rules of playing and the strategies by weeks of ‘practice’ since the 1^st gathering.

There were Blockus, WoW Card games(this game I find the most people playing and for sure got people playing every week! Why?? lolz) and other games going on.

Happy times of course ends in a blink…= =

We can’t do anything about that, but to come again next week.

The long awaited MMU Closed Tournament has successfully ended on Saturday! Thanks to the organizing committees that brought a wonderful time to the participants!!

The DOTA tournament had 13 groups competing, started at 10am sharp. Everyone came for the same purpose: matching their playing skills with others.

The event went on in 2 rooms: FITAR1001 and FITAR1003.

Some gamers brought their own ‘fighting weapons’—their own keyboard, mouse, mousepad and themselves, of coz!

The winners sat there to wait for the next opponent, while some of them were still discussing about their last game to sharpen their skills and strategies.

The gamers carried on after their lunch (supposed to play better with full tummy, I guess, hehe).

Finally after many exciting and magnificent games, we have the champion, 1^st runner-up and 2^nd runner-up. They are SS, Makanan, and Food! (what’s the difference between ‘makanan’ and ‘food’ btw?? Lolz)

The event ended with a prize giving ceremony and everyone was satisfied. But for the losers, don’t give up and sharpen your skills for next year!

This LAN party was held on Saturday, but it also attracted lots of the MMU students, both male and female, to attend it as we rarely can find this kind of opportunity to gather around with friends to play with in such a nice well-conditioned glass room.

This event the players enjoyed games like Counter-strike, Warcraft 3(for the maps we have Pyramid Escape, DOTA, X-Hero Siege…) and other online games as well. Besides the electronic ones, we also have some people playing board games, World of Warcraft.

Warcraft 3, the most interesting games in 2008 of all……as well as CS.

No matter it’s a notebook or PC, we brought whatever that we can get to have fun!

The gathering was supplied with some refreshments to quench our thirst and fill some empty stomachs.

The gathering started at around at 10am and ended at 10pm as well, but it was very interesting till everybody was like refusing to stop as the time was going to end, lolz.

Looks like the event was very successful and hope that we’ll be having another one soon.
